So I started the previous post and it got a little non-pregnancy related so I decided to make this one a whole new one. Since I last posted I've been to a beautiful (but hot) wedding, a four day trip to Grapevine with co-workers, a very boring (but mandatory) workshop, a funeral and a great lunch with an old friend. I think my lazy summer days are officially over. Some things I have NOT done: worked on Lydia's room, read much more of my pregnancy books or even thought about school stuff.
As far as how I'm feeling I'm pretty much the same. I go back to the doctor on Wednesday but it's going to be a "boring one". No ultrasound or anything fun like that. We will get to find out if the next appointment (around 29 or 30 weeks) will be the 3D ultrasound. I'm excited for that one of course because I HATE waiting to long in between to see her. Levi said yesterday that I should just invest in an ultrasound machine and walk around with it hooked up all the time. How I wish I really could do that! I'm also excited to another ultrasound just to get a measurement on this kid. I sometimes feel her very high and very low at the same time and I'm wondering how she can already be taking up so much space! I'm not sure she realizes that that's all the space she gets and she's going to have to stay in there a while longer. Mommy is not big enough to have a Daddy sized baby inside her!
Speaking of Daddy; he FINALLY got to feel Lydia kicking the other night. He thought he might have felt it a couple of weeks ago but this time he was sure. She's been a little stinker in that I can feel her moving almost constantly but as soon as Levi puts his hand on my belly to feel her she stops. Ornery little thing (something else I think she's gotten from her daddy).
I know I promised belly pics but....you have to wait longer. Sorry! I did take a couple while I was all dolled up for the wedding last weekend but Levi ended up having to work and because I was taking the pictures myself they didn't come out very well. I was going to post them anyway but then I remembered that the laptop I am on doesn't have a card reader and I'm going to have Levi take the "official 25 week" picture tomorrow anyway so I will post them then. I double promise :)
Here's Lydia's progress this week:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Until next time!
